This course prepares EMS personnel, including EMTs, Paramedics, and Advanced Paramedics, to provide expert pre-hospital care during large-scale endurance events like the Boston Marathon. Participants will gain in-depth knowledge of event-specific protocols, including triaging patients, managing medical emergencies, and coordinating with medical tents and hospitals. Special focus is placed on handling conditions like exertional heat stroke, dehydration, and cardiac events under high-pressure conditions. The course emphasizes rapid assessment, effective communication, and seamless integration into the broader medical response team to ensure timely and life-saving care for runners, spectators, and volunteers.
