Description:
This training provides Registered Nurses with specialized training in IV administration during the Boston Marathon. Participants will learn protocols for safely initiating and monitoring IV therapy, including assessing patient eligibility, understanding hydration and electrolyte needs, and documenting fluid administration accurately. The course includes guidance on utilizing i-STAT devices for rapid blood sodium and glucose level analysis prior to initiating IVs, ensuring precise and informed care. Emphasis is placed on safety measures, recognizing potential complications, and coordinating with medical teams to deliver effective care in high-pressure event settings.
